08-09 Record:  31-6, state semis Head Coach: Sean Stephenson District:  13-AA Returning Starters G - Amber Rechis (Sr.) G - Jacey Sims (Jr.) F - Grace Ann Swaim (Sr.) C - Sara Olds (Sr.) Starters Lost F - Amber Nanney 09-10 Outlook The Lady Chargers lost six games last year, four of which came against state champ Gibson County.  With four starters back, things are looking good this season.  Senior Amber Rechis is simply one of the best scorers in the state and has led the team since her freshman season.  Senior forward Grace Ann Swaim has loads of experience and can fill it up too.  Senior Sara Olds (5-10) is a crafty post player. Maurice Whitfield scored on a five-yard run in the fourth quarter for the decisive score in a 20-17 Lions’ win. Camden (11-1) travels to Milan Friday for a Class 3A state playoff quarterfinal matchup. Westview, which won seven straight games after starting the season 0-4, finished with a 7-5 record. Demarcus Williams scored on a four-yard run in the fourth quarter to put the Chargers ahead 17-13. Williams gave his team a 7-0 lead in the first quarter with a seven-yard run. Westview to host huge basketball playday Saturday

Basketball fans who want to get an early look at a ton of area girls basketball teams will get that opportunity this Saturday at UT-Martin’s Elam Center. The Westview Lady Chargers will play host to Play Day 2009 as no less than 30 West Tennessee teams will get their first taste of game action. “This is the fourth year we’ve done this,” said Westview girls coach Sean Stephenson. “The past three years we’ve had it at different schools around Weakley County. This year it will all be at one place. It’s a great opportunity for coaches and fans to see a bunch of teams play at one place.” Each team will play three games that will consist of four ten-minute quarters with a running clock.…
