Washington breaks 1,000-yard barrier in TCA win

Trinity Christian wrapped up its season in style Friday night at Scotts Hill and the Lions’ quarterback made a little history. With 195 yards on 11 carries, junior Jabriel Washington became the first TCA player to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Washington had touchdown runs 18, four and 77 yards as TCA won 40-0 to finish the season at 5-5. Josh Lenoir had a three-yard touchdown run in the first quarter one-yard touchdown run in the second. Zach Hannaford had a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Lenior finished with 77 yards on 12 carries. Rocky Scott led Scotts Hill with 59 rushing yards and 77 passing yards. Ezell leads Gleason past Scotts Hill

Photo by Lisa Smith A wet field slowed down both offenses Friday night in Gleason, but the Bulldogs used an effective running attack to come away with a 21-0 win over Scotts Hill. Cody Ezell scored the first half’s only touchdown and added another with 3:18 left in the game to put the game away. Gleason’s Dalton Teeter scored in the third quarter to make the score 13-0. Nicky Spain had an interception for Gleason in the game’s final moments. Gleason moved to 6-3 with the win. Scotts Hill fell to 2-7.

District action heats up tonight

Here’s a look at six of the most interesting games in the area tonight: Scotts Hill (2-2) at Adamsville (4-0) Last week:  Scotts Hill defeated Bruecton 26-7; Adamsville defeated McNairy Central 18-0 Players to watch:  Scotts Hill – QB Rocky Scott, LB Brandon Goodman; Adamsville – QB Bradley Melton; LB Josh Carroll Storyline:  This key District 15-A matchup should be interesting. Adamsville missed the playoffs last season, but has been solid with a team full of experienced players.
