Ethan Livingston was a key guy but the backcourt should be in good shape with the return of junior Trey Wilkins and senior Chase Smith. Photo courtesy SBA/Story by Sharon Masterson The St. Benedict Lady Eagles volleyball team won the Division II-AA State Volleyball Championship on Oct. 30 by defeating Baylor in five sets, Father Ryan in five sets and finally Father Ryan in three sets to win its first-ever state volleyball Championship. The Lady Eagles, under Coach Angie Buchanan, swept the tournament going all the way in the winner’s bracket and finished the regular and postseason with a 37-11 record. Coach Buchanan was presented the Coach’s Award and SBA senior setter Megan Pulido was named Tournament MVP. Just after SBA clinched their tournament victory, their Cordova neighbors, the ECS Lady Eagles, won the DII-A state title under Coach Tommy Danner (his first) by defeating Webb School, St. George’s and…
