Despite steady rain, Craigmont scored four times in the first half and rolled to a 47-0 District 14-AAA win over Raleigh-Egypt. Kirk McFerrin had touchdown runs of two and nine yards in the second quarter. Jeff Dalton added a four-yard touchdown run and Waltcher Crutchfield added a 10-yard touchdown run before halftime. In the second half Logan Schaar hit Ricky Herron on an 86-yard touchdown pass and Javelin Lott added a 32-yard scoring run. Sam Craft hit Corey Greer on a 20-yard touchdown pass for the final tally. Photo by Roger Smith Dyersburg senior running back Xavier Taylor had a big night for the Trojans Friday night as his team beat visiting Raleigh-Egypt on homecoming 34-0. Taylor rushed for 151 yards as Dyersburg moved to 4-1 on the season.
Raleigh-Egypt graduate Duke Calhoun, now a senior wide receiver for the University of Memphis Tigers, holds the Memphis records for receiving yardage and receptions in a career. And he still has several games to play this season. The only person who could prevent Calhoun from ending his career as the career leader in both categories is teammate Carlos Singleton, a Haywood graduate who is right behind him in both categories.
