Senior point guard Steven Williams led the team last year, averaging 14 points and six assists per game. As a reminder, the brackets for the playoffs will be released on “The Road to the BlueCross Bowl” bracket release show on Nashville-Citadel station 104.5 The Zone from 7-9 a.m. CST Saturday, Oct. 31. The show can be heard on the internet at http://www.1045thezone.com or http://www.tssaa.org. Everybody says their district is one of the toughest in the state. We know that can’t be true, but it’s hard to argue that District 14-A isn’t one of the best in any classification. The top two Class A teams in the state, Humboldt and Lake County, reside in the district, as does Union City, the defending Class A state champ. While Peabody hasn’t been able to knock off any of those three teams, the Golden Tide is looking good down the stretch. Peabody played Lake County in a close game earlier in the year and is looking like a team that will at least advance past the district tournament, something they were unable to do last year.
