Late TD propels Overton over Munford

Photo by Fred Brooks Overton sent the Munford fans home disappointed Friday on homecoming night. Wolverine quarterback Adrian Fox scored on a 19-yard run in the fourth quarter to help Overton defeat Munford 18-15. The first half saw two different ties and three lead changes. Kale Gramling kicked field goals of 38 and 32 yards to give Munford a 6-0 lead, but a two-yard run by Fox tied the score at 6-6. Dean Harrison broke an 82-yard touchdown run midway through the second period, but Fox hit Courtney Jeffries on a 21-yard pass to tie the score again. The Basics Head coach:  Willie Stewart (1st season) District:  15-AAA 2008 Record:  6-4 Playoffs:  Did not qualify Base offense:  Wing-T Base defense:  4-4 Returning starters:  5 offense, 4 defense Overview The Wolverines have some pretty experience guys back this season. Junior quarterback Adrian Fox leads that group. He passed for 1,331 yards and 15 touchdowns last season in his first year as a starter. Senior James Harris is a promising running back who will join him in the backfield. Senior wide receiver Antonio Dodson put up some good numbers last season and also returns for the Wolverines. Leading the defense will be senior linebacker Gavin Odell. He is the team’s top returning tackler.
