Big third quarter propels Milan past Dyersburg

Three Bulldogs scored in double figures Tuesday night at Dyersburg as Milan defeated the Trojans 67-59 to move to 4-0 on the season. Cody Howard and Winn Decker led the Trojans (3-2) with 15 points each. Decker hit three threes in the game and Trey Walker (10 points) hit two, but it wasn’t enough.  Milan trailed 32-30 before winning the third quarter 17-7 to take control of the game. Same Reeves finished with a game-high 16 for Milan. Mark Vaughn added 15 and Zach Chatman scored 11.  

Milan storms past York into title game rematch

Photo by Beau Arnold York Institute made things interesting for two quarters Friday night at Milan in the Class 3A state semifinals. But Milan exploded for 29 unanswered points in the second half and rolled to a 43-15 win. Milan (14-0) will face Alcoa (14-1) for the second straight season with a state title on the line. The game will be held Friday in Cookeville. York Institute led 15-14 at the half after a field goal in the final seconds. Jobronski Gilbert came up with touchdown runs of one and eight yards in the third quarter to put the Bulldogs ahead 29-15.
