
Carnesha Bradley was the only player to score in double figures Tuesday night in Savannah as Hardin County defeated McNairy Central 40-37 in girls’ basketball action. Bradley hit a pair of threes and finished with 12 points to lead the way for Hardin County. Kayla Brown led McNairy with nine points and Katie Forsythe added seven. Hardin County led 31-22 after three quarters before a late surge from McNairy made things interesting down the stretch.

Maggie Moore and Morgan King each had eight kills to lead the Lady Bobcats to a 25-7, 25-12, 25-14 win. Robin Matlock had a big match for the winners with 14 assists. McNairy moved to 6-9 overall and 3-5 in district play.

Now the Adamsville players can say they made a little history. A.J. Damron scored three touchdowns for the Cardinals, who led 6-0 at the half and tacked on two more scores in the third quarter to move to 4-0 on the season. The last time Adamsville beat the Bobcats was 1984. Damron caught a 36-yard pass from Bradley Melton for the game’s first score and hooked up again with Melton, this time for 14 yards, in the third period to expand the lead.
