Liberty has some size that is very hard to deal with.  Junior Ann Jones is 6-3 and senior Racquel Miller is 6-2.  Look for the Lady Crusaders to exploit that advantage again this season.  Junior guard Keiona Kirby is a very fast point guard who understands what needs to…

Senior Tarius Johnson, a 6-4 forward, is the team’s top returning scorer, and he’s a good one.  Junior point guard Kendall Anthony is super quick and is the guy who tries to get the ball where it needs to be.  Senior Cordaro Williams started last year and will…

Giles County ends Liberty’s season

Liberty put together the best season in the school’s short history this season, but it ended Friday night at Giles County. Giles County repeatedly denied Liberty in the red zone and advanced to the Class 4A state title game with a 28-14 win. Bobcats’ quarterback Bo Wallace threw for two scores and ran for two. Liberty scored on a 99-yard touchdown pass from Spencer Brooks to Tevin Bryant to tie the score at 7-7, but Liberty was not able to score again until late in the game when they were trailing 28-7. Liberty (12-2) won a district title and three playoff games this season, both firsts for the program.
