
Photo by Roger Smith Crockett County got a big night from Darrius Bass and rolled past Kingsbury 34-14 Friday night at home in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs. The Cavaliers (10-1) will play Sheffield Friday night in round two. Bass had 164 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries to lead the way. Crockett County led 13-0 at the half and 27-0 through three quarters. Kyle Nance had a 16-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and Austin Taylor had a pair of touchdown runs. Wesley Whitmoore led Kingsbury (5-7) with 116 rushing yards and 120 passing.

Junior Tony Bell is emerging as a leader on the team. At 6-2, 190, he’s going to play some receiver and linebacker. Senior Roderick Sellers (6-6, 210) is developing into a big time player. He will play receiver and defensive end. Junior Wesley Whitmore and senior Louis Perry are two more guys to watch.
