Photo by: Beau Arnold 08-09 Record:  1-19, district tourney Head Coach:  David Hunt District:  DII-A-West Returning Starters G - Lauren Robbins (Sr.) G - Caley Jones (Sr.) G - Brittney Johnson (Sr.) G - Sara Johnson (Jr.) F - Lauren Allen (Jr.) Starters Lost None 09-10 Outlook The Lady Eagles struggled last year with a young squad.  But new coach David Hunt is hoping the move to Division II, plus the return of some experienced players, will improve the team’s fortunes.  The offense starts with senior point guard Lauren Robbins, who has played at the varsity level since she was an eighth-grader.  Lauren Allen, a junior, also has the experience to make a difference this season.  Seniors Caley Jones and Brittney Johnson bring more experience…

F - Cody Jones (Sr.) Starters Lost G - Logan Perkins G - Brent Barry 09-10 Outlook The Eagles move into Division II this season and do so with a roster full of experienced players.  Drae Bowles, a 6-2 forward, had an impressive freshman season, averaging 10 points and 7.5 rebounds a game.  Senior Cody Jones also returns in the frontcourt.  At 6-3 he’s just an incredible athlete who averaged six points and five rebounds a season ago.  Senior Drennan Mayberry and juniors Jonathan Payne and Daniel Sears…

Payne leads JCS past TCA

A big fourth quarter was enough Tuesday night as Jackson Christian School defeated rival Trinity Christian Academy 57-51 in boys’ action. TCA led 35-34 as the fourth quarter began, but the Eagles surged to the win in the final eight minutes. Jonathan Payne led JCS (2-1) with 15 points and Cody Jones added 12. Roger Tatum had a huge game for TCA (2-1), pouring in 26 points to lead all scorers.
