Houston Mustangs Football Preview 2009

The Basics Head coach:  Tim Haney (14th season) District:  15-AAA 2008 Record:  7-3 Playoffs:  Did not qualify Base offense:  Pro-I Base defense:  3-4 Returning starters:  3 offense, 2 defense Overview There will be a ton of holes to fill for the Mustangs after the graduation of a huge senior class last spring. Senior Ben Butkowski (6-, 195) is a safety who has a good bit of playing experience at the varsity level. Same goes for junior Jake Monteverde, who also plays in the secondary. Juniors Landon Mosley and Trey Taylor are the two candidates for the starting quarterback job. Seniors Nick Powell, Connor Hill, Jerry Anderson and John Morgan are wideouts who could also play defense.
