Lake County, who eventually advanced to the state tournament, narrowly beat them last year in the district tournament and everybody is back. Senior Katie McCall and junior Jordan Galey can both score. Galey has been a mainstay in the lineup since she was a freshman. Senior Mallory Robinson is an excellent ball-handler and distributor. Photo by Lisa Smith The fall sports teams at Greenfield have enjoyed some success this season. The golf teams recently wrapped up a successful year, and the football team is trying to finish strong. Through six games, the Yellowjackets were just 1-5, but some key games were still ahead. Overall, the defense has been the highlight of the season for Greenfield. Take out a 31-0 loss to Union City, and Greenfield was allowing just 15 points a game. A shutout over Bruceton is an example of how stout the defense can be. Offensively, the Yellowjackets have been led by quarterback Dalton Potts, running back Tyler Dunning and wide receiver Bradley Medling. Potts and Medling, both juniors, give Greenfield hope for more success next season. Senior…
Greenfield Lady Yellowjackets’ coach knew it would be tough going into the season without any seniors. But, for the most part, the team has held it’s own in District 14-A. Through mid-January, the team was right in the middle of the 10-team district, and had played some close games against some of the league’s top teams. Jordan Galey has followed up a solid freshman season with a good sophomore campaign, leading the team in scoring, averaging 12 points a game. Junior Katie McCall has also played well, averaging 11 points a contest.
