Photo by: Lisa Smith 08-09 Record:  22-9, region semifinals Head Coach:  Joel Ayers District:  13-A Returning Starters G - Kim Edenfield (Sr.) F - Jenna Frazier (Sr.) F - Taylor Stout (Sr.) Starters Lost F - Maggie Lawrance 09-10 Outlook Former assistant coach Joel Ayers takes over for Randy Frazier this season and inherits a team that has some very experienced players.  Seniors Jenna Frazier, Kim Edenfield and Taylor Stout were all freshmen on the team that won the state title three seasons ago.  The team has made deep postseason runs each of the past two seasons.  Frazier will be the go-to player inside and can also operate on the perimeter.  Edenfield will have the ball in her hands a lot and Stout does a…

Westview to host huge basketball playday Saturday

Basketball fans who want to get an early look at a ton of area girls basketball teams will get that opportunity this Saturday at UT-Martin’s Elam Center. The Westview Lady Chargers will play host to Play Day 2009 as no less than 30 West Tennessee teams will get their first taste of game action. “This is the fourth year we’ve done this,” said Westview girls coach Sean Stephenson. “The past three years we’ve had it at different schools around Weakley County. This year it will all be at one place. It’s a great opportunity for coaches and fans to see a bunch of teams play at one place.” Each team will play three games that will consist of four ten-minute quarters with a running clock.…
