
The Gibson County trio of Heather Butler, Aubry Reedy and Heather Griffin each had huge games Tuesday night in Dyer. The result was a convincing 71-41 win over Haywood that pushed Gibson County’s record to 7-0. Butler led the way with a game-high 24 points. Griffin worked the paint for 16 points and Reedy finished with 10. Courtney Haynes added 10 for Gibson County, which led 25-10 after one quarter and 43-26 at the half. Jamie Shutes led Haywood with 10 points.

Ripley jumped out to an early lead and never looked back Friday night at home en route to a convincing 42-0 District 13-AA win over Gibson County. Nick Taliaferro caught a touchdown pass from Eric Scruggs and ran for two more scores in the first half to spark Ripley to a 30-0 halftime lead. Taliaferro finished with 118 yards rushing, his second straight 100-plus yard game. Jake Hurdle had an 18-yard touchdown run for the Tigers, Garvan Bonds ran one in from one yard out and Scruggs hit John Kirkpatrick on a 43-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Scruggs completed 10-of-24 passes for 208 yards.
