
Photo by Beth Tidwell The McNairy Central volleyball team picked up a key win over Fayette-Ware Tuesday afternoon. Maggie Moore and Morgan King each had eight kills to lead the Lady Bobcats to a 25-7, 25-12, 25-14 win. Robin Matlock had a big match for the winners with 14 assists. McNairy moved to 6-9 overall and 3-5 in district play.

His favorite target figures to be senior wideout Tevon Brown, who started last season. He also plays safety. Senior Rashun Fleming returns to his fullback position. He’s also a skilled linebacker. Senior Ricky Jackson (5-10, 240) will headline the offensive line at tackle. He plays linebacker too. Junior Brandon Marshall could play linebacker or defensive back and senior Demarcus Bond (6-0, 350) is a force at defensive tackle.

Also stepping up is new head coach Anthony Hall, who has been an assistant at Fayette-Ware previous to this season. Hall said that Thomas has a strong arm and is poised in the pocket. Though he is young, Hall said he has done well in the preseason. Senior Kendall Williams (5-11, 190) will be a solid option at back up. Splitting time at running back will be seniors Detrick Hubbard (5-10, 197) and Brandon Cleaves (5-8, 165). Sophomore Brandon Marshall (6-1, 185) will add depth in the backfield.
