Starters Lost G - Matt McCulley 09-10 Outlook Matt McCulley was the focal point of the team last year, leading the team with 17 points and four blocks a game.  But the good news is that the four other starters are back.  Tyler McPeak (6-4) will man the middle after averaging an impressive 11 rebounds per game last season.  Junior Daniel Harris, a 6-3 wing, averaged eight points a game last season.  Senior Dillon Matlock averaged six points and two assists a game a season ago.  Junior forward…

Dresden takes down Gleason, but misses playoffs

Photo by Lisa Smith Dresden looked impressive Friday night in a 27-0 District 13-A win at Gleason. But the Lions found themselves on the wrong side of the playoff bubble. Despite finishing 6-4 overall and third in the district, Dresden did not make the Class 2A state playoffs. Gleason wrapped the regular season with a 6-4 record and earned a wildcard spot in the Class 1A state playoffs. The Bulldogs will play at South Fulton Friday night. Dresden got off to a fast start Friday night when Daniel Harris returned a kick-off 80 yards for a score. Zach Jolley scored on a one-yard run the second quarter and Matt Beaty caught a 40-yard pass from Dale Hutcherson in the third. Collin Kanehl caught a seven-yard…

Halls edges Dresden

Photo by Roger Smith Halls got a late touchdown Friday night at home to edge Dresden 18-17 in a wild one. Cody Currin caught a 54-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter to put his team ahead by a point. A late defensive stand by Halls (3-2) preserved the win. Dresden fell to 4-2.
