Several key district games on schedule tonight

Here’s a look at six of the most interesting league matchups tonight: South Side (4-1) at Liberty (4-1) Last week:  South Side defeated Covington 20-14; Liberty defeated North Side 32-7 Players to watch:  South Side – RB Darryl Rogers, LB Chris Jeffries; Liberty – RB Bryson Crowder, QB Spencer Brooks Storyline:  This is a huge game. South Side and Liberty are both 2-0 In league play and tied atop the District 14-AA standings. The winner here will have an inside track to a playoff berth and league championship. The Basics Head coach:  Chris Purnell (7th season) District:  1-6A 2008 Record:  4-7 Playoffs:  Did not qualify Base offense:  Multiple Base defense:  4-3 Returning starters: 4 offense, 4 defense Overview The Jaguars were hit pretty hard by graduation, but there a few guys coming back with experience. Senior Antonio Briggs is a running back who gained some valuable experience last season. Junior Spencer Hudson is a returning lineman who could make an impact. Seniors Walker Sturgeon and Devan Freeman are a couple of guys returning with experience on the defensive line. Senior Brent Langston is one of the team’s more experienced defenders.
