08-09 Record:  21-9, region semis Head Coach:  Bubba Luckett District:  DII-AA-West Returning Starters G - Dominic Fragale (Sr.) G - Frankie Bougher (Sr.) F - A.J. Douglas (Sr.) Starters Lost G - John Foley F - Drew Barham 09-10 Outlook One challenge for the Brothers this year will be replacing the production of 6-6 forward Drew Barham who is now playing for the University of Memphis.  Seniors guards Dominic Fragale and Frankie Bougher will need to have big seasons.  Fragale is a steady ball-handler and Bougher (6-4) is very versatile.  Inside, look for senior A.J. Douglas (6-3) to provide rebounding, defense and scoring.  Junior forward Mark Hampton (6-3) will also fill that role.  In the backcourt, seniors Jonathan Edwards and Jake Garbuzinski, plus junior Chris…

CBHS much improved this season

But expectations are always extremely high at CBHS. From the get go this season the Brothers have proved they will be a factor in DII-AA-West. The season started with an impressive win over Melrose in the Bridges Classic and CBHS has not looked back, racing to a 6-1 start with quality wins over Millington, White Station and Germantown. Quarterback Jake Zdanewicz has put together an impressive season. The wide receiving corps, led by Jonathan Brown, Kendarion Jennings and Salem Smith, has been solid. The running game has been spearheaded by Jonathan Brown and Grant Powell. There are some big games remaining…

CBHS defeats visiting Millington

Photo, Story by Thomas Sellers Jr. The Millington Trojans entered Friday night’s game at Tom Nix Stadium on a three-game winning streak. Meanwhile, the host Christian Brothers Purple Wave were looking to bounce back from a defeat to the Whitehaven Tigers. The Purple Wave were able to do that with a 31-7 victory on homecoming night. The Brothers were able to overcome a Millington 7-0 lead. The Trojans scored on a Hunter White to Reggie Nicholson 21-yard touchdown pass with one minute and 9 seconds remaining in the first quarter. On the play, White suffered a shoulder separation and missed the rest of the game.
