Photo by: Lisa Smith 08-09 Record:  8-14, district tourney Head Coach: Dennis Chapman District: 13-A Returning Starters G - Brittany Farley (Sr.) Starters Lost G - Haley Haynes G - Alysa Koza G - Alisa Parker G - Olivia Williams 09-10 Outlook The Lady Tigers were a senior-heavy team last season.  In addition to losing four starters, the team lost Amber Kendall, a regular who injured her knee before last season and was unable to play before graduating.  Brittany Farley, a 5-10 senior, is the team’s only player with significant experience.  She can play any position on the floor.  A pair of juniors, Shelby Taylor and Maggie Williams, will be asked to step up this season.  Williams (5-10) will play in the paint.  Senior forward…

Photo by: Lisa Smith 08-09 Record: 7-15, district tournament Head Coach:  Chris Finley District:  13-A Returning Starters G - Homer Willis (Sr.) F - Chandler Jordan (Jr.) F - Abe Hampson (Jr.) Starters Lost G - Dylan Casteel G - Kyle Noles 09-10 Outlook The Tigers improved last season despite heavy losses to graduation.  Head coach Chris Finley is hoping the progress continues with a lot of the key players from that team back in the mix.  Junior forward Chandler Jordan is one of the best athletes in the school and will be key to the team’s fortunes this season.  Senior Homer Willis has plenty of experience and will be counted on to score this season. Westview to host huge basketball playday Saturday

Basketball fans who want to get an early look at a ton of area girls basketball teams will get that opportunity this Saturday at UT-Martin’s Elam Center. The Westview Lady Chargers will play host to Play Day 2009 as no less than 30 West Tennessee teams will get their first taste of game action. “This is the fourth year we’ve done this,” said Westview girls coach Sean Stephenson. “The past three years we’ve had it at different schools around Weakley County. This year it will all be at one place. It’s a great opportunity for coaches and fans to see a bunch of teams play at one place.” Each team will play three games that will consist of four ten-minute quarters with a running clock.…
